Take a dive into the luxury lagoon at Blue Tree for a sustainability-focused fun park, with fine dining, retail and more

    By Roger Osbourne

Blue Tree Phuket has 226,624 sqm of space to provide a perfectly balanced medley of “chills” and “thrills”. A large portion of this area is taken up by their Crystal Lagoon, perfect for swimming, filled with paddleboards, slides, in water climbing wall, and boasts 100 times fewer chemicals than the regular pool. International fine and casual dining restaurant, and adventure activities are also on offer. An immense playground for both adults and kids, whether you seek the adrenaline kick of the superfly water slide, shooting you up high before plunging you into their pool, or prefer to unwind and chill with a glass of wine and fine French food, it’s all hosted in Blue Tree Lagoon.

For 1,200 THB for adults, and 650 THB for kids over 6 years of age, unlock the Blue Tree Lagoon, which has earned this iconic attraction its early fame, and has only improved since its launch. Opening from 10:00 – 20:00, get there in time for lunch, dinner, or both. The Lagoon is made to chill out poolside, cocktail in hand, on a comfortable sunbed, to chillax the day away, with some interludes of adrenaline-filled activities, or get some exercise and test your balance on our paddle boards.  Among friends?  Play some beach volleyball, try some foam archery and other ice-breaker activities. For the real thrill chasers amongst you, the zipline will put you above the action and the Crystal Lagoon.  Equally as exciting are the Superfly huge waterslides with multiple options to choose how high you want to be thrust into the air, to land in the fresh water below.

Of course, it is perfect for families; this lagoon is made intentionally with the words thrill and chill in mind, for all age groups. The family fun zone is perfect for those with little ones, this Splash Park is a blast for young families eager to play safely in the water. You can arm yourself with an inflatable sword and joust away or play soccer in a Zorb ball on the fringes of the water for intense laughing fits. For those interested in learning or trying free solo rock climbing, the Blue Tree climbing wall is a fun free-climb on the opposite side of their cliff diving point.  Tackle the 10-meter climb above, and if you happen to make a mistake, you’ll simply splash down into the deep plunge pool, then come up, and try again. Great fun!

Keep your eyes on the schedule of the day, and you can watch or participate in some special events in the Lagoon.  Aquatic shows featuring mermaids, cliff divers, and super-fliers are featured most every day, between 1 and 4 pm. These pros entertain both kids and parents alike and bring the Lagoon to life.

Find the schedule on their website at www.bluetree.fun

For food and drink, treat yourself to something casual within The Lagoon’s The Bay Grill.
You must sample their new menu featuring scrumptious burger and sandwich options, pizzas and pastas, or some Thai comfort dining dishes that are everyone’s favourite like Phad Krapaw.  All dishes are affordably priced with something for everyone. I like to get a few things with friends from the Funky + Fresh section of the menu.

Their Drinks menu features your tropical go-to’s of cocktails, coconuts, and fizzy drinks that will delight your senses.

For French food, cooked by an internationally renowned French chef, who was a finalist in the French Top Chef, L’Arôme  at Blue Tree, the sibling restaurant to award-winning and Michelin guide L’Arôme  at the Sea is THE place to eat. The siblings have a couple of differences to note though, compared to the one by the sea, L’Arôme  at Blue Tree is a lot bigger. Their 4 story tree house gazes down over the pristine blue lagoon and the fields surrounding it, to provide awe-inspiring views. The venue is set to have a different personality on each of its four floors to discover for yourself. As well to note, they offer casual all-day dining, catering to lunchtime needs before the evening finery begins.

In the all-day dining, expect a spread of amazing options for every appetite, snacks, sushi, and seafood platters – ingredients are organically sourced to bring this casual lunch to life.

Come dinner time, find your way to the first floor and taste some of Chef Burbaud’s modern and innovative French cuisine. Known for their meticulous attention to detail, they bring elegant French techniques to modern, contemporary cuisine.

It’s a full-on day to experience all the wonders of Blue Tree, and if you’re anything like me, a coffee fanatic, you’ll be glad to know Starbucks coffees are available there too! I heard they had a cáfe so I went up and around the lagoon to find it, and in their Sunset Cáfe, in the hot Phuket heat, yet under cover in the café, I had one of the most refreshing iced coffees of my life.

As I’ve mentioned, Blue Tree is a full day out to be experienced, both inside and outside the lagoon. Spa, Boutique shop, Fitness, Pilates, an F1 simulator, Padel Tennis, Skate Park, Fit Trails and more are all around. Kids Planet await juniors of 1.5-6yrs. The Dojo offers kid karate and judo classes. In terms of cuisine, Greek, Italian, and the Eastern European grill are all easy dining options.

Blue Tree is for everyone, fun for families, and a romantic day and night out.

Take the time to explore the many activities and events that are truly designed to thrill and chill, you’ll be so pleased that you did.  See you there!
